A. Lange & Söhne

The connoisseur's choice. Founded by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in the Saxon town of Glashütte in 1845, A. Lange & Söhne defined German fine watchmaking, then vanished behind the Iron Curtain after WWII. In 1994, Walter Lange resurrected his great-grandfather's company, and the comeback was immediate legend. The Lange 1, with its off-center dial and outsize date, is now regarded as one of the greatest watch designs of the modern era. Every Lange movement is assembled twice, finished with hand-engraved balance cocks and German silver three-quarter plates that many collectors rank above even Geneva's finest. Browse our A. Lange & Söhne collection: watchmaking for those who know exactly what they're looking at.
